Overlooked at the Oscars

These movies or persons should have been recognized at the Oscars.

1964:  Aubrey Hepburn for "Best Actress" in "My Fair Lady".

1980: "The Shining" and "The Changeling" should have been nominated for best picture.  Jack Nicholson should have been nominated for Best Actor for "The Shining."  Stanley Kubrick should have been nominated for best director for "The Shining."

1983: "Scarface" should have been nominated for best picture.  Al Pacino should have been nominated for best actor, Steven Bauer for best supporting actor, Michelle Pfeiffer for best actress, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio for best supporting actress and Brian De Palma for best director all for "Scarface."

1984: "The Neverending Story" should have been nominated for best score, make-up and costume design. "The Terminator" should have been nominated for best make-up, costume design, and visual effects.

1985: "Back to the Future" should have been nominated for best picture.  Christopher Lloyd should have been nominated for best supporting actor for "Back to the Future."  Robert Zemeckis should have been nominated for best director for "Back to the Future."

1987:  Diane Keaton should have been nominated for best actress for "Baby Boom".  Goldie Hawn should have nominated for best actress for "Overboard".

1989: "Roger and Me" should have been nominated for best documentary.  "Steel Magnolias" should have been nominated for best picture along with Sally Field for best actress and Shirley MacLaine for best supporting actress.

1991: "Fried Green Tomatoes" should have been nominated for best picture.  Kathy Bates should have been nominated for best actress and Mary Louise Parker for best supporting actress for "Fried Green Tomatoes."  "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" and "Thelma and Louise" should have been nominated for best picture.

1993: "Carlito's Way" should have been nominated for best picture.  "The Joy Luck Club" should have been nominated for best picture.  "Jurassic Park" should have been nominated for best picture.

1995: "Casino", "Dead Man Walking", "Se7en" and "The Usual Suspects" should have been nominated for best picture.   "Jumanji" should have been nominated for best visual effects.  Leonardo DiCaprio should have been nominated for best actor in "The Basketball Diaries".

1996: "Primal Fear" should have been nominated for best picture.

1997: "The Fifth Element" should have been nominated for best costume, make-up, and visual effects. "Deconstructing Harry" for best picture.  Woody Allen for best director for "Deconstructing Harry."

1998: "American History X" and "Les Miserables" should have been nominated as best picture.  Jeff Bridges should have been nominated for best actor and John Goodman for best supporting actor in "The Big Lebowski." Johnny Depp should have been nominated for best actor in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".  Liam Neeson should have been nominated for best actor and Geoffrey Rush for best supporting actor for "Les Miserables". "Black Cat, White Cat" should have been nominated for best foreign film.

1999: "Fight Club" should have been nominated for Best Picture, David Fincher for Best Director, Brad Pitt for Best Supporting Actor, Edward Norton for Best Actor and Helena Bonham-Carter for Best Supporting Actress.  Also best cinematography and screenplay for "Fight Club."

2000: "Memento" should have been nominated for best picture.  Christopher Nolan for best director and Guy Pierce for best actor for "Memento." Best Original Screenplay and Best cinematography for "Memento" and "Requiem for a Dream".

2003: Best screenplay for Quentin Tarantino for "Kill Bill Vol. 1".

2004: Beat screenplay for Quentin Taratino for "Kill Bill Vol. 2"  "Hotel Rwanda" should have been nominated for best picture.

2005: "Match Point" should have been nominated as Best Picture, Woody Allen as Best Director, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Best Actor.

2007: Paul Dano should have been nominated for best supporting actor in "There Will Be Blood".  "Before the Devil Knows Your Dead" for best picture and best director Sidney Lumet.

2008: Best screenplay for "Sunshine Cleaning." Best supporting actor Brad Pitt for "Burn After Reading".

2009: Woody Harrelson for "Zombieland".

2010: "Piece of Work" best documentary.

2011: Best director Jodi Foster for "The Beaver." "Drive" as best picture, best cinematography, best actor for Ryan Gosling.  Best picture "50/50".

2012: Best original screenplay for "Seven Psychopaths".  Best supporting actor Christopher Walken for "Seven Psychopaths". Best Supporting actor Ezra Miller for "Perks of Being a Wallflower". "Hunger Games" for best cinematography, best costume, and best visual effects.

2013: "The Butler" should have been nominated for best picture and Oprah for best supporting actress. Emma Thompson should have been nominated for best actress for "Saving Mr. Banks". Tom Hanks should have been nominated best actor for "Captain Phillips." Oscar Isaac for best actor in for "Inside Llewyn Davis. That movie also should have been nominated for "best score".  "Monsters University" for best animated film.  "The Great Gatsby" for cinematography.  "Enough Said" for best picture, including best actress and actor for Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini.  "All is Gone" should have been nominated for best director.  It was like "Gravity" but on the ocean.  "The Immigrant" should have been nominated for best movie and Joaquin Phoenix for "best actor".

2014: "St.Vincent" for Best Picture.  Bill Murray for Best Actor in "St. Vincent". "The Homesman" for Best Picture.  Tommy Lee Jones for best director and best actor.  Shame.  Jake Gyllenhaal for best actor in "Nightcrawler".

2015: Oscar Isaac for "Best supporting actor" in Ex Machina.
